IFC Films buys 'Last Day on Earth'

IFC Films has acquired U . s . States rights to Abel Ferrara's apocalyptic ''4:44 Last Day in the world.'' IFC made the announcement Wednesday within the Toronto Film Festival. Ferrara written the script for ''4:44,'' which stars Willem Dafoe, Shanyn Leigh, Paz p la Huerta, and Natasha Lyonne and was produced by Fabula, Funny Balloons, and Wild Bunch. The film opened up captured within the Venice Film Festival and may screen within the approaching NY Film Festival. ''4:44'' exlplores how people would spend their final several hours in the world by focusing on the NY couple (Dafoe and Leigh) cycling through moments of hysteria, ecstasy, and torpor. The sale was talked about by Arianna Bocco, Senior V . P . of Purchases and Productions for Sundance Selects/IFC Films with Carole Baraton at Wild Bunch regarding the filmmakers.
