I would love to work in the film business (director, writer, etc) but I hav a strong dislike for Hollywood....?

I love films. I would absolutely love to be able to make films and
tell a story.

But with all of the comes Hollywood. The business is hard and sounds
brutal. Before I decide on going to film school, should I just get a
different job but have fimmaking a hobby?
